Terms of Service

Account Creation and Usage

By creating an account in the BeerCounter app, you explicitly agree to:

• Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
• Being at least 18 years of age
• Not posting offensive, inappropriate, or illegal content
• Not using offensive, inappropriate, or discriminatory usernames
• Not harassing other users or engaging in harmful behavior
• Not attempting to manipulate leaderboards or achievement systems
• Not sharing account credentials with others
• Not using the app for any illegal purposes

User Conduct

Users of BeerCounter must:

• Respect other users' privacy and personal information
• Not upload content that infringes on copyrights or intellectual property rights
• Not use automated systems or bots to interact with the app
• Not attempt to reverse engineer or modify the app
• Not use the app to promote hate speech, discrimination, or violence

How to Delete Your BeerCounter Account

Steps to Delete Your Account

1. Open the BeerCounter app on your device
2. Go to your User Profile
3. Tap on Edit Profile
4. Scroll down and select the Delete Account button
5. A confirmation message will appear: "Are you sure you want to delete your account?"
6. Select Delete to proceed
7. Select Cancel to cancel

What Data Will Be Deleted?

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently deleted:

• Your profile information (name, email address, and profile picture)
• Uploaded photos
• Achievements and leaderboard data

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

a. Personal Information

• Google Sign-In Information: Your email address, profile name, and profile picture provided by Google for authentication purposes
• Profile Pictures: Stored securely in Firebase Storage as part of your user profile

b. Uploaded Images

Photos you upload to the app for AI image recognition to verify if the image contains beer. These images are processed temporarily and not stored permanently unless added to your profile gallery.

c. Ad-Related Information

AdMob Ads: We use Google AdMob to serve interstitial ads within the app. AdMob may collect and use data, such as device information and app usage, to deliver personalized or non-personalized ads.

d. Country Data

Your country information is obtained through the API (countriesnow.space API) to personalize leaderboard rankings.

e. Device and Usage Data

• Device identifiers, IP address, and operating system details
• App usage data, including interactions with features, leaderboard participation, and achievements

f. Friends and Social Features

Data about friends added through the app, such as friend connections and shared activity.

g. Account Information

• Email address, username, country, and password when creating an account
• Passwords are securely encrypted and not stored in plaintext
• Email addresses are used for authentication and account-related communication

2. How We Use Your Information

• Authentication using Google Sign-In
• Feature Functionality: AI image recognition, leaderboards, achievements, notifications
• Leaderboard Personalization: Global, country-specific, and friend-specific rankings
• Profile Management: Upload and display profile pictures and gallery images
• Ad Delivery through AdMob
• Notifications for achievements, updates, and friend interactions
• App Improvement and usage analysis

3. AI Image Recognition

Uploaded images are processed using AI to identify if the content includes beer. Images may be temporarily stored during processing but are deleted immediately after unless explicitly saved to the user's gallery.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely in Firebase, which complies with strict security and privacy standards. Passwords are encrypted, and we do not have access to plaintext passwords.

5. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your data to third parties. Data sharing occurs only:

• With Service Providers: For hosting, image recognition processing, and push notifications
• For Legal Compliance: If required by law or valid legal requests

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for service provision and legitimate business purposes. Uploaded images are only retained if saved to your gallery.

7. User Rights and Controls

• Edit Profile: Update or delete profile pictures and gallery images anytime
• Account Deletion: Request account deletion through the app, removing all associated data

8. Security

We implement appropriate security measures including encryption and secure Firebase storage to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
